Below were the pre-conference workshops conducted for IEEE ICECCT 2015: 

Pre conference workshop on “Programming, Simulation and Optimization using

MATLAB/SIMULINK”

Registration details:

Interseted candiates shall register to attend the pre conference workshop.

Registration fee:
Only particiation : Rs. 1,500/- (includes participation for three days conference as well).
Participation + conference kit: Rs. 2,500 /-

How to register?
Registration form for IEEE ICECCT 2015 shall be found in the conference website under “Downloads” link.
Duly filled in registration form may be sent to the Organizing Chair on or before 02, March 2015.
The demand Draft should be drawn in favor of “The Organizing Chair, ICECCT 2015, SVSCE” payable at Coimbatore.
Authors shall also make online transfer to the following bank account.

Resource person:

Dr. R. N. Patel did his Ph.D. in the area of power systems from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, in 2003. He received his M. Tech. from IIT Delhi and a graduate degree in electrical engineering from SGSITS, Indore.  His manifold fields of interest include power system stability, optimization in electric power systems, application of artificial intelligence techniques, design of intelligent controllers and renewable energy systems. He has over 14 years of hands-on experience working with MATLAB and Simulink, as an instructor, researcher and trainer. Dr. Patel has served as faculty in the electrical engineering department at IIT Roorkee and at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Currently, he is Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Shri Shankaracharya Technical Campus (SSGI), Bhilai. Dr. Patel has many publications to his credit in various international journals of repute. He has presented his research at various international conferences and organized many work-shops and conferences within the country. He is a recipient of the prestigious ‘Career Award for Young Teachers’ from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.  Dr Patel has successfully handled many research projects funded by AICTE, New Delhi, and Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, New Delhi. He has also authored a Book, ‘Programming in MATLAB- A Problem Solving Approach’ with Pearson in the year 2014.

Session details
Session 1:
Introduction to MATLAB desktop, using MATLAB help, MATLAB demo programs, Matrices and their Operations, Application of Matrices in Problem Solving. Linear Plots, Plot Labeling and Annotation, Scaling the Plots, Special 2D and 3D plots, Curve fitting and Interpolation/ Extrapolation with MATLAB, Application of Plotting in Problem Solving.
Session 2:
Conditional statements and loops, writing a MATLAB program, writing MATLAB functions with single and multiple arguments, variable number of inputs and outputs, inline functions and library functions. Application of MATLAB functions: Solving linear equations, Differentiation, integration and numerical solution to differential equations; ODE functions and their application in Engineering. Introduction to symbolic tools, symbolic arithmetic, control systems applications: Laplace transform, Pole-Zero plot, state space analysis, transient response: step and impulse, Bode plot, root locus and Nyquist plots.
Session 3:
Introduction to SIMULINK, making SIMULINK model for systems with differential / algebraic equations, creating and masking sub-systems in SIMULINK, writing S-functions, working with important SIMULINK Blocksets and Toolboxes, Simulation of Electrical and Electronics Circuits with MATLAB/SIMULINK.
Session 4:
File handling in MATLAB (file input/output), debugging MATLAB programs and handling errors. Creating Graphical User Interface (GUI), writing code for GUI, linking m-file and SIMULINK model through GUI. Signal and Image Processing Applications with MATLAB, MATLAB based Filter Design and Speech Processing, Using basic AI tools in MATLAB: ANN, Fuzzy logic and Genetic Algorithm, Optimization with MATLAB.
